Why Therapy?

For many people, psychotherapy is a powerful instrument for growth. I create a safe, collaborative, trusting environment for you to explore and clarify how to make lasting, positive change in your life. It is my belief that therapy should be tailored to each person's unique needs, and I draw from a variety of methodologies to incorporate what is most helpful for each individual.

I have extensive post graduate training in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, contemporary trauma modalities (EMDR and IFS), yoga, and meditation.  I believe in the interplay and interconnectedness of the social, emotional, intellectual, and physiological realms, and that all contribute to effective healing.  Making space to know our internal world opens up our capacity to navigate our external world, and I facilitate this process with warmth and compassion.  I also mentor and supervise other therapists.

I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who are in transition and/or struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and parenthood. I have a background in teaching and the creative arts, both of which inform and enrich my practice.
